Field Services Technician

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide non-technical support to the implementation of bird deterrent systems, SVE systems, potholing, and general labor assistance primarily for clients in the oil and gas industry. The job requires work in a variety of environments and with varying structural construction requirements and conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform a variety of tasks utilizing manual labor in the installation and removal of netting material as well as the maintenance of netting.
Perform other field related tasks as directed by client or supervisor.
Pry stakes from ground. Pound stakes into ground.
Sew netting and tie wiring. Pulling large sections of net cross cables
Pack concrete bags and packing poles for long distances; mix concrete.
Dig with shovels in rocky terrain.
Work in and around confined, slippery and wet spaces.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Support and adhere to company policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in basic netting and construction work.
Ability to operate an ATV safely.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, sit and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under sometimes adverse field conditions.
Ability to work well with others in a team oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High school Diploma or GED. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Prior construction experience preferred.

ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and exposure to dust, and potential oil and gas particulates.
Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Requires repeated hand motion.
Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to and including 100lbs for long distances.
Excellent stamina is required.
Willingness to work 10-12 hour days due to project requirements.
Some overnight travel may be required for certain projects.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass pre-employment, random, post-accident drug/alcohol screens as
Must be able to pass criminal background screen as applicable.
Must have current driver’s license without restrictions.

Compensation:

$16.00 – $20.00/hour plus overtime (typically 10-15 hours per week)
